For you, for me, for all of us who have to go to work, each day should have a task or an assignment , the completion of which allows one to say, "There, I've done my little part to touch someone's life today." Community Table allows me to utter those words almost every day.
What is Community Table? It is a food program supported by the Interfaith Council of Boulder and the First Christian Church. Thanks to an on-site kitchen facility, the program's goal is to provide warm and nourishing meals for families and seniors in need. Meals are served from 6 - 7 pm Monday through Thursday. My task and my joy is to pick up donated food that becomes the meal on those four nights.
There is nothing wrong with a bologna and cheese sandwich, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are ok, too. But sometimes there's nothing quite like a hot nourishing meal. The many generous Community Table donors include the Hotel Boulderado, Café Gondolier, Pizza Hut, and Murphy's Grill, to name a few. Thanks to their efforts, at the end of my day I'm able to say, "There, I've done my little part to touch someone's life today."
I'm Warren Paetow, a driver for Community Food Share and I have one of the best jobs in town.
