Why do children like Community Food Share?

Thanks to your generosity, the children we serve don't have to go hungry. Here's what they have to say, in a child's own words...(from 3rd grade students when asked if they like getting Food Share)

"I like getting Food Share for three reasons. First, I can get food for dinner. I could go to bed not hungry. Second, I have something to drink on the way home. I might be thirsty on the way home. Third, I have something to hold me off until dinner."

"...when they give us the food, we get to say thank you. That makes me feel nice. As you can see, Food Share is fun."

"I Like apples a lot and they give them to us. I especially like them with peanut butter. Second, I like it when they give us special snacks. Sometimes they give us healthy snacks that still taste good. Third, when we don't have any money or food, we always have Food Share on Fridays."

"First, Food Share helps my family. We need food because we do not have a lot of food. Second, they have good food like rice, cookies, juice, and healthy stuff like that. Third, it's good food to get because it is free. That is the best part of all"

"First, my family enjoys them giving us food so my Mom could save some money. She also told me to write a Thank You note. Second, my Dad cooks some of our Food Share food and it's good. I enjoy it. Third, on Fridays, I go visit my grandma in the hospital. She does not like the food in the hospital so I give her Food Share food."

"First, I like it because it gives you fruit snacks. Fruit snacks are really, really good."

"I like getting Food Share for several reasons. First, I'm crazy about Food Share because it has good food inside the bag. Second, they give us healthy food that gives us strength. Third, it is fun to get Food Share because Mom can't buy food."

"I love getting Food Share from the Food Share people. I like getting Food Share because we barely have any food at home. It makes my parents very happy because we don’t have enough. The reason why we don’t have enough is because my dad has no houses to paint. He goes around to houses and no one needs any painting done. The reason why we get Food Share is because we come to school everyday. As you can see,  I love getting Food Share!"

"I like getting Food Share. Somtimes we don't have any food. Also, my Mom sometimes doesn't have money to buy food. I also like Food Share because the food is yummy. This is another reason I like Food Share..if somebody didn't get Food Share and they were poor, then they might die."
