The CFS Guild

In 2003, fortune smiled upon us when dedicated volunteers Roberta Levin, Michelle Osterman and Susan Brochstein, wanting to have a greater, long-term impact on CFS, decided to form a guild. Since then, the Guild has become an indespensible fundraising arm of CFS.

The guild's main production is CFS's signature event, the annual Spring Fest Gala. We are highly indebted to them for all their hard work, because staging an event of this magnitude involves an incredible amount of planning, time and effort. These energetic, creative and talented ladies have seen to every detail. They start months ahead of time and spend countless hours planning and organizing. On meeting days the office is a-buzz with activity and laughter.

We are forever grateful to these selfless individuals who are so committed to their community. And they're a lot of fun to have around too!

The mission of the Guild is:

To bring together a group of volunteers whose primary purpose is to direct its energy toward the preparation and management of social activities that will support Community Food Share, and to become ambassadors to further the goal of ending food insecurity in our community.

The Junior Guild:

The purpose of the Junior Guild is to bring together high school students who share a common vision of supporting the mission of Community Food Share: to end hunger and food insecurity in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Students throughout the two counties are invited to participate and contribute at least 30 hours per year to various volunteer opportunities at CFS. Through friendship, collaboration and dedication to a single cause, the junior guild members experience the joy of community service and the culture of giving. They have put on many fundraising events on their own initiative. They also collect unused snack sacks at the Bolder Boulder Race and create lovely gift bags for our Elder Share shut-ins on Valentines Day.
