Food Drives
Hunger Hurts the Whole Community food drive
sponsored by Times-Call Publishing and
Colorado Hometown Weekly
Unfortunately, the Hunger Hurts food drive did not make goal. What does this mean? It means that we will run out of canned food this summer, and in order to meet our agencies' needs, we will have to buy canned food. What can you do to help? Donate financially...please help us restock our shelves! Thanks!
The freight costs to acquire food from out of the area is increasing sharply, making local food drives an even more important source of food. Please help us make each food drive a success by donating. Thank you!
The
"Let's Bag Hunger" food drive, sponsored by The Camera, was held in November 2011.
The total collected for the Let’s Bag Hunger food drive in 2011 amounted to 101,962 pounds. Last year's food drive collected 130,000 pounds. Our goal was 135,000 pounds.
When employees of the law firm of Sloat and Nicholson in Boulder heard about the food shortfall, they pledged up to $10,000 in matching funds if others contributed as well to the food drive. This pledge invigorated the public, and they came through in a big way with financial donations. Thanks to everyone who stepped up to help us attain our goal. It is heartwarming to see how generous people can be in times of need.
At any time of year, if we don't have a formal drive going on, you can take the lead and organize a food drive of your own through your business, school, church group or organization. If you would like to organize a food drive of your own to benefit CFS, please follow the link below to access a complete set of instructions. Thanks!
